What is it for?

We are restoring the vital connection of Armenians with the mountains by developing the culture of mountaineering and creating a powerful community that is ready to face physical and spiritual challenges.

In parallel with developing the culture of mountaineering and the physical capabilities of the population in mountain conditions, the championship:

  • strengthens the connection between humans and nature, emphasizing the importance of exploring and preserving mountain areas,
  • highlights the advantages of mountain sports as a healthy and accessible means of active recreation,
  • encourages exploration of one’s homeland by creating a format to rediscover one’s own country in a new way,
  • develops intra-team cooperation when solving problems in mountain conditions,
  • develops healthy relationships between hiking, military-athletic, sports, and other participating teams,
  • contributes to the development of adventure tourism by drawing attention to the potential of mountainous regions as unique tourist destinations, and contributes to the healthy development of regional communities.

“Arahet” is designed for people who are interested in mountaineering and hiking life. Participation in the “Arahet” open championship is possible only in a group format – with teams consisting of 6 members. The team can be an organization, initiative, or any other structure.
